WRAP as a Tool to Prevent the Use of Seclusion and Restraint

In order for systems to continue to create person-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed systems of care that prevent the use of seclusion, restraints and other coercive interventions, the people we serve and our staff need tools to be successful. Prevention tools are essential to shift systems from responding to crisis to preventing crisis and re-traumatization.

Cheryl Sharp, MSW, ALWF,  Coordinator for Community Integration and Wellness for the National Council on Community Behavioral Healthcare, previously of On Our Own of Maryland, Inc., is a master WRAP Trainer. Cheryl will connect crisis safety planning and WRAP and by doing so will connect self-regulatory skill development and recovery planning. She will share her expertise in providing individuals and systems with wellness tools.
