New Publication! Managing Risk in Community Integration: Promoting the Dignity of Risk and Supporting Personal Choice. The Temple University Collaborative announces the publication of a 50-page guidebook for programs and practitioners that provides both a broader understanding of the risks associated with promoting community inclusion and a step-by-step process for managing those risks in ways that continue to promote the dignity of risk and support personal choice.  The guidebook provides an introduction to community inclusion, and the types of risks – to consumers,to agencies, and to communities – that may be involved. Also included are planning strategies for both minimizing those risks ahead of time and responding to those risks in times of crisis with tools for assessing risks and anticipating the supports programs and practitioners can provide to minimize the risks entailed. This document is now available on the Temple Collaborative Web site at: http://tucollaborative.org/pdfs/Managing_Risk_in_CI_FINAL.pdf |
