Substance Abuse Mental Health Services (SAMHS) engaged Intentional Peer Support (IPS) to conduct an independent third party review of the Certified Intentional Peer Support Services (CIPSS) program’s policies, process, and training in December of 2014. The intended outcome of the review was to receive recommendations from IPS developers to inform future implementation of IPS training and peer certification in Maine. The overall purpose was to assure the quality and consistency of work being performed by CIPSS.
