Tuesday, 03 June 2008

AIN invites all local mental health agencies, mental health professionals, people coping with mental illnesses, their families, friends, and anyone else who is interested in the mental health issues that our community faces to come together in October for our annual Recovery Walk.

This year our walk will be held in Bangor starting at Together Place, 150 Union Street and proceeding to the Penobscot River. If transportation is needed, please contact Lydia at 1-888-375-5969.

We will begin at 1 pm with cold drinks, coffee and cookies. Ultimate Fighter Marcus Davis, the Irish Hand Grenade will join the walkers and be on hand at the end of the walk to give an autographed picture to anyone that walks and receives a $10 pledge.

Our 9th Annual Membership Meeting will follow the walk at 4 pm with Special Guest Speaker Pat Hunt and the election of new members to the Board of Directors. At 5 pm there will be a spaghetti dinner and we will do the drawing for raffle prizes. We have a signed Stephen King book, a stay at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, 3 gift baskets, the new CD of Walter Trout "The Outsider", a seascape painting by Larry Paine, 5 Main Deck tickets to Portland Pirates, 4 tickets to Portland Sea Dogs, $50 Burger King gift card, $15 Governor's gift card.

Keep watching here for more information.
