TOOLS WORTH TRYING

Jeffrey Conrad of Camden, Maine has written several small resource books/ booklets for persons living with mental health issues.  Following his own treatment within the mental health system, Jeffrey has learned some helpful tips that have been useful in his recovery.  I recently read Jeffrey’s book- “A Manual for Mental Wellness”. It offers “a practical wholistic philosophy for mental health patients and their families”.  In this manual Jeffrey provides resources for the tools that worked for him and his insight into the two psychiatrists, Dr. Gerald Jampolsky and Dr. Abraham Low, with whom he found their materials helpful in his own recovery.  He hopes that this practical approach offered in his manual will help others living with mental health diagnosis. If you would like to order this or other materials Jeff’s created please contact:

This site was originally developed by staff at the Institute for Health Policy at the Edmund S. Muskie School for Public Service under the Quality Choices grant from the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), US Health and Human Services, to the Office of MaineCare Services (formerly known as the Bureau of Medical Services) of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. We would like to thank the members of the Technical Advisory Group of the Quality Choices grant and many, many people from state and community organizations who have assisted us in gathering this information and presenting it on this website. On the conclusion of the grant, maintenance of the site was taken over by the Office of Elder Services, Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
