USICD Urges Public to Sign Online Letter and Advocate for International Disability Rights
The U.S. International Council on Disabilities (http://usicd.org) is asking the public to sign a letter to Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) – chair and ranking member, respectively, of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee – supporting the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (http://www.un.org/disabilities/default.asp?navid=13&pid=150), a United Nations treaty signed by the Obama administration on July 30, 2009. It falls to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to move it forward so that the Senate can complete the ratification process. To read and sign the letter, go to http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/332829/Community-Letter-to-Senators-Kerry-and-Lugar-for-Sign-On
